People hear 'AI' and they picture magic. What they don't picture is debugging matrix dimensions at midnight while questioning all your life choices.

I'm studying Computer Science with a focus in AI and Machine Learning. I started this journey because AI felt like the most important thing happening in the world, and I wanted to understand it from the inside.
The Reality Gap
The popular version: AI is a mysterious oracle that can do anything. The actual version: AI is a collection of mathematical tools, statistical methods, and careful engineering decisions that require enormous amounts of good data, thoughtful design, and constant evaluation.
What I'm Actually Learning
Linear algebra. Calculus. Statistics. Python. How to read research papers. How to debug code that has no error messages, just wrong answers.
How did this land?
